"We are One".

at Lebanon - Alita / Byblos.  Exhibition "Wall of Contemplation" consisting of 12 murals by artists from different countries. Dedicated to the 70th anniversary of
the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

My work «We are one» is primarily devoted to the first three articles of
the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
A r t i c le 1. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
A r t i c le 2. Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.
A r t i c le 3. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
I think these are the main points that relate to a civilized society. Friendship and brotherhood of nations is the fundamental basis for the peaceful existence and development of both individual nations and the world community. Necessary cycle for a developed society is not oppression, but helping to the weak in a difficult situation.  And this is natural behavior of a healthy moral person.
In my picture I depicted two children - little girl from Middle East and boy of African roots. In the center above is the sun, which shines equally for all - symbolizing the equality of the people. My artistic method to depict the shape of a faces by with dots, also shows that we are all equal and similar - we are made up of the same particles of molecules, neurons, feelings, desires, experiences, tears and the pursuit of happiness. I decided to portray specifically the children, as they most need protection and care, especially when they are in difficult living conditions. In the background is a color gradient that symbolizes the endless horizon of our possibilities, again if you live in friendship and care for each other.
My composition also touches upon and illustrates article 13 of the declaration on the protection of human rights - where it says that we all have the right to freedom of movement and residence in any country. In my opinion, communication between people of different nationalities enriches our soul and culture, both internal and external. Of course, I do not mean about erasing of culture identity of each of us. I mean respect for each other and underpinning the traditions to which we belong.  Because this is what makes our nations and countries so different, interesting, attractive, enriches the world, the life and gives us meaning of being.
